how do we know Michael's the guy

Who has he worked with? Eric Clapton was pleased with Michael’s work. It went well with Snoop Dog and Joss Stone.

It’s not exactly like you’re taking a chance with a rookie, is it? Whether you’re making your first single or recording a bonus track for your band’s Greatest Hits collection, Michael Woodrum has handled others as amazing as you. Go for it. Here are some who did.

Michelle Carter-Leis
Michelle, presently recording in Los Angeles with producer Michael Woodrum, is splitting her time between Canada, Los Angeles and Philadelphia. The label plans for a 2010 release followed by an international tour. With her piles of blonde hair, sparkling grey blue eyes, and a sound that pushes the borders of pop music, Michelle is a force to be reckoned with and will have a career to aspire to for years to come. The uncaged bird is ready to sing.

BC JEAN

BC originally brought Michael her dance tracks. Her voice was sweet and smooth, but on one track, Michael detected a bit of a rasp in her voice. Michael suggested trying a rock style. Excited about the new direction, they both got to work writing and recording. Her voice seasoned and her writing flourished. After working with Michael, BC co-wrote "If I Were A Boy" which Beyonce recorded and topped the singles charts world-wide. BC was recently signed to her own record deal on RCA Records by legendary Clive Davis. Way to go, BC!

“Michael Woodrum is one of the first producers I have ever worked with
and he was so awesome!!! Not only a talented producer but he made my experience so wonderful with his comfortable vibe, patience and wonderful studio. All the musicians he brought in to work with me were the best. Such a professional environment, great times, great tunes. And someone now that I can call my friend."

ZACH HILLYARD BAND

The Zach Hillyard Band came to Michael shortly after taking prize in the National John Lennon Songwriting Competition, in order to have him mix 1-2 of their songs. Michael recognized their talents as songwriters and excellent musicians, but knew their arrangements and sound needed the polishing of an experienced producer. Michael agreed to produce, mix and record ZHB's self titled, debut release. The album has helped the Zach Hillyard Band earn radio play all the way from San Diego to Boston. Additionally, the radio-ready product Michael delivered helped ZHB to become an OurStage.com favorite, winning the title of "Best Band in New England," and 1st place in the College Clash event.

“It was a fantastic experience working with Michael. It's so important to have a producer, and engineer that inspires great performances from artists on a personal level, while having the expertise and knowledge to truly know how to capture those performances sonically. Michael has both, and that allowed myself, and the band to perform at our best, and record a great album!"

P. HUX

Parthenon Huxley has written four Top 20 singles, earned three separate Album of the Year Awards from press and fans and toured the world as guitarist and singer for The Orchestra (latter day ELO). Hux first reached out to Michael to record a single track on his eighth album, Kiss The Monster. He was so happy to discover Michael's talent that he moved half of Kiss The Monster's production to Soundmoves. When Hux was ready for his next record, he brought Michael in as co-producer and together they knocked the entire album out from start to finish, basic tracks to mastering.

P. Hux - Kiss the Monster - Crime

“Michael's awesome. He's fast. He gets great sounds. He knows what I want as soon as I think it. There's no waiting around or wasting time. When I'm at the mic he's got a headphone-mix ready and off we go. When I have an idea for a guitar part that might require wiggle, fuzz, delay and compression, he finds it for me quickly and boom, it's done. He's good. I ask for a lot and I actually get more, because I trust his opinion and his ideas, too."

SHANNON HURLEY

Shannon Hurley began writing her own material and searched for a producer who could help transform her song sketches into lavish productions. Michael produced, engineered, mixed, hired musicians, helped with arrangements and massaged great performances from all the players. She ended up with a gorgeous pop record called Ready To Wake Up. Shannon was subsequently named one of Rolling Stone’' Top 25 artists on MySpace.

“Michael's treatment of my material stayed completely true to my vision, and resulted in an honest and pure style that I felt completely comfortable with. His laid-back approach made it a complete joy to walk into the studio every day. I can't wait to do a second album with him."

ADVENTURES WITH KAZMIR
THE FLYING CAMEL

Gina Vivona first came up with this idea of a flying camel when she was only 12 years old. She crafted her story off and on over the years. It was Michael's idea to go directly to audio book, calling in talent to give the characters voice, adding sound effects, and narration by Brayn Cranston.

10

“I couldn't believe my ears. Michael took my written story, hired voice talent, and added all the right touches to make it all come to life. It's sounds even better than it did in my head."
